He said, she said

So much of writing involves who's speaking and what is he/she doing. I've turned to a resource that includes the different ways to say "said." Yeah, its gotten to that.

Having written two books and on my way to completing a third, I can say that "said" is one of the most frustrating parts of writing. Not even plotting takes this much effort. I mean, there are only so many ways to say "said." That...said...I want to point out that this is where an author must exercise creative juices to imply a "said" without stating it. This comes in the form of action, or even just making the statment as long as the audience has reference to the character from a previous sentence.

Now, as I sit before my computer, ready to dive into another writing session, I look to my other screen the plethora of "said" patiently waits. The challenge? Not to use it.

The Judge

Welcome to The Judge blog, where I plan to write about my upcoming projects and progress in the books.

I will also be writing some information on publishing, how I am getting published, and what it takes to write a novel. I will include writings on my philosophy, Objectivism, and viewpoints regarding topics found in the series.

So, be sure to come back weekly and check out what's new.

The New Dawn

I have finished one book in The Judge series entitled, The Clement. It's a book taken from my Jacob Murak's perspective, the man that will one day win Maria Arranz's heart.

I decided to write the book in order to provide some context. I felt that one day, should Dawn of Justice publish first, The Clement would provide much needed backstory to help the reader understand who and what Jacob is all about and why Maria was summoned to his world.

I've completed the first third of Dawn of Justice and I am currently working on the second third. I hope to have it done within the month. That leaves me the last third, which will be the longest.
